2023 Musette Marsanne
Our Musette is from a very small parcel that is organically farmed in Yolo County. It was fermented in a Nomblo concrete fermentation egg to increase the mineral characteristics of the wine, and then transferred to age and mellow in neutral oak puncheon barrels, which help to soften and integrate the flavors. There was no malolactic fermentation, so the wine is crisp and bright. In the nose...a floral garden, candied violets, orange blossom, that then sinks into Fuji apple and pear. But wait...take another whiff...is there just a hint of white chocolate? The first sip reveals luscious ripe pear and a cornucopia of young stone fruit, including yellow peach and apricot, a splash of kiwi and quince, and hints of crème patissiere.
